Camp Themes:
-
From the biggest ocean to the smallest stream, we learn from waterways every day as they shape and influence every part of our lives. This week, campers will forge their own connections to our local marine and freshwater systems and the people who thrive within them, from the Columbia to the coast.
-
Humans have had close relationships with the land since time immemorial: before anyone can remember. This week, campers will visit Portland's Black-owned farms to learn about how caring for land can help us care for ourselves and each other.
-
Black culture influences so much of today's music, fashion, language and other parts of society. This week, campers will learn about the revolution of art and get a chance to create a project that is uniquely them, whether their interest is painting, fashion, photography, or landscaping/building design - this camp is their canvas!
-
What does it mean to live sustainably? This week, campers will unpack the big impacts of small choices, uncover how local communities are working together to build a healthier Earth, and discover the everyday ways they are already supporting a sustainable future for us all!
