Tappin Roots Internship 2022

Tappin Roots Internship is open for African American High school youth. Interns will participate in summer nature-based education work with one of 4 partners. Includes a week-long mandatory training retreat in the Portland Metro Area. Beginning December 2021 - August 2022 Interns will participate in weekend career and environmental justice symposiums led by professionals of color. Learning opportunities will include Indigenous based Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Oregon's Black history. They will implement culturally relevant skills and knowledge they acquire to educate others about the natural world. Interns will receive a $4,000 stipend for participation in the program.

 

Criteria

  • Black Identified High School students.

  • Ages: 14- 18

  • Must apply to be considered for internship.

Program Cost & Compensation:

  • No fees to sign up.

  • Year-long paid internship

  • $4000 stipend upon completion
